About me...

Yet another amateur author with dreams, who barely has time to actually sit and write between classes, exams and homework. But a passion is a passion, and my hand craves the pen - well, more like my phone, because that is where I do most of the writing - as soon as anything goes a little too south or north in my life. Although, tragedy is new beauty in reality, writing of tragedy in a world of fantasies is surreal. Well, as long as I'm writing poems. My writing begun online, only next to the school magazine. That too, with a fanfiction about the epic Mahabharata. My first work, now completed and published for free online, isn't one whose language and plot I am particularly proud of. But I have my online reader-base to thank for providing me with the confidence to write further with their outpouring love and constant support. Right now, I have two officially ongoing novels online, which I sincerely want to complete, and another completed fanfiction, besides multiple drafts. This is my first poem book, and I have two of my school English-teachers, some amazing friends, my parents and this publishing house to thank for bringing a random highschool student and amateur writer all this way. I'm a huge book-worm, too, and I read times more than I write. Fantasy is absolutely my genre of choice. Besides, swimming, cooking, colours, mythologies, languages and cultures I barely know about, traveling - mountains - and some warm, bubbly time with family and friends interest me as well. Otherwise, I'll rather sit in peace and write. When I'm not studying, that is.

Ivy Of Words

Completed, original, poetry

Wrapped in sequin covers of fantasy, the real world is definitely so much more appealing. Because, no matter how cynical a mind gets, hope always peeks up like a sapling and covers the grey walls of cynicism like the sly ivy. This book is my travelogue through all the woods and valleys I've never seen. A collection of tales by weeping willows, starry night-skies, flowery fields, sweet twilights, unbelievable dreams and so many more places where reality blends into fantasy with as much ease as tears blending into ink. Poetry makes speaking those unspoken thoughts so much easier, because the ivy of words grows on and covers the heart, while creating the illusion of baring it.

The Call Of The Night

Ongoing, Original, Fantasy

"People don't live in darkness, darkness lives in them." Aizea is just another girl in the mysterious kingdom of Zaayes, where sound (rather, the sense of hearing) vanishes as soon as night falls - for everyone but Aizea. However, with this vicious secret finely hidden for years, Aizea, with her unique beauty, has caught the eye and the heart of her otherwise good friend - the handsome Andre, who has captured the hearts of almost every other girl in Zaayes; but for the one girl his shifter spirit craves for. Their friendship doesn't even get bitter despite the intrusion of these myriad of emotions; until, one fine night, the secret is spilled... Aizea has to choose between the much feared forests drenched in cold darkness which fringe their kingdom, and the wild darkness that claws its way out of the serene covers of the people that she had been holding close to her heart for all these years. What does she choose as she hears the night call her from the dark depths of the woods?

Unexpected

Ongoing, Original, Fiction

"Because true love happens unexpectedly." True love is often unexpected, extremely and shockingly so. Not all love stories begin with a love-at-first-sight. Some begin with simple conversations, with a few unusual bits; a few sudden run-ins; exchanging numbers and unexpectedly heart-to-heart chats over the phone. It's often one baby step at a time - not every love-story is flawlessly glorious. Some are flawed, yet glorious - because love has this glory of its own. Finding a true friend in the world today is already difficult and fortunate enough, but finding true love in that true friendship is unexpectedly amazing. Will this unexpected friendship-at-first-sight give way to love, or will a single excess advance from one side break whatever bond they happen to share? Will they be able to tread this fragile thread and finally win over the hurdles that come their way? Still, how far is their love destined to go? Join Iksha and Rudra in the unexpected twists and turns that their lives take to finally bring them together... or apart?

Veeryashukla

Completed, Fanfiction

[This story doesn't go along the lines of the Mahabharata, not even initially. I have just borrowed the main characters and a few ideas from Ved Vyasa] Certain incidents in his life tell Arjuna that he is 'special' indeed. However, as a new friend, an extremely special girl, especially to him, enters his life, things seem to revolve more around her than around him, and Arjuna thinks that maybe this special friend of his is the real gem of the tale. As they grow up together, Arjuna realises that her existence must be kept a secret from almost everyone out there; and also the fact that she happens to be the single most beautiful creature to have ever walked the Earth. However, as their friendship strengthens and matures into more, he discovers that she is probably more special than he initially thought, with regards to a mystery regarding her birth. But the young prince has much more of the world to see... Much more than just knowing that everything that's called magical and divine, is most probably just another unknown to the common man. Does the mystery of her birth involve him too? Can a common friend that they find in an enigmatic youth help them out of this labyrinth that is their lives..? WARNING: Many characters, taken from the Great epic, will be shown in a totally different light in this story. Kindly do not consider any one as a deity or anything such. The more realistic and raw sides of walking-talking humans, who are no Divine beings, and do have their own share of negativities within themselves, are shown in this book.
